To promote the development of STEM education, Inspire Education Association collaborated with the EdUHK Robotics Team from The Education University of Hong Kong in January to co-organize the "Drone Technology Experience Workshop," guiding students on an exploratory journey into flight technology.
The event was held at the S.R.B.C.E.P.S.A. Lu Kwong Fai Memorial School. Centered on interdisciplinary practical learning, it integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematical logic. Through structured experiential sessions, students began by understanding flight principles and progressively mastered the structural design and real-time control techniques of drone systems. The workshop emphasized "learning through hands-on thinking" - students not only operated drones firsthand but also learned to analyze problems, plan pathways, and deepen their understanding of smart technology applications through team discussions and task challenges.
We observed that students exhibited a high degree of curiosity and engagement throughout the process. From their initial attempts at flight to actively exploring the engineering principles behind it, this workshop embodied the STEM education spirit of "learning by doing and thinking through practice." The activity not only strengthened students' foundational understanding of technology and engineering but also ignited their motivation and confidence in learning about innovative technologies.
