Sponsored by the Centaline Charity Fund and organised by Inspire Education Association, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Professional Association for Gifted and Talented, the Hong Kong China Mountaineering and Climbing Union, and four renowned local universities, "Hong Kong All-Terrain Explorers: From Uni to Summits 2026" Leadership Development Programme successfully concluded on 14th March 2026.
Participants visited four universities in Hong Kong and hiked the nearby peaks, experiencing a leadership journey that combined academic enrichment with outdoor challenges.
Stop 1: The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology × Duckling Hill & Siu Nui Fung (24th January)
Participants joined the "Integrative Systems and Design" workshop at HKUST to explore the integration of artificial intelligence and design. They then hiked Duckling Hill and Siu Nui Fung, overlooking the Tseung Kwan O seaside from the summit, marking the beginning of the programme.
Stop 2: The Chinese University of Hong Kong × Kau To Shan (28th February)
A visit to the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change deepened participants' understanding of the climate crisis and sustainability issues. In the afternoon, they challenged themselves on Kau To Shan, enjoying panoramic views of Sha Tin and Tolo Harbour while reflecting on the relationship between humans and the environment.
Stop 3: Hong Kong Baptist University × Qianlong Ancient Trail, Lion Rock and Amah Rock (7th March)
Through a workshop organised by the Division of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes, participants experienced the power of creativity and cross-disciplinary learning. They then followed the Qianlong Ancient Trail, ascending Lion Rock and gazing upon Amah Rock - a journey where history and nature intertwine, evoking Hong Kong's unique mountain spirit.
Stop 4: The University of Hong Kong × Lung Fu Shan, the Peak & Tramway Path (14th March)
At HKU's School of Biomedical Sciences, participants explored the frontiers of human science and medical innovation. On their final hike, they ascended from Lung Fu Shan to the Peak, then gently descended along Tramway Path, concluding the journey with sweat, smiles, and a sense of fulfilment.
Four stops, four unique experiences. Participants not only built physical strength and resilience in the mountains, but also broadened their horizons and sparked new ways of thinking through university lectures and campus life. Led by professional instructors holding Level 3 Mountaineering and Rope Techniques certifications, the programme ensured safety while guiding participants to reflect on leadership, teamwork, and community with every step.
