CubeSat Model Workshop

Hong Kong - May 2025

Sponsored by the Centaline Charity Fund and co-organized by Inspire Education Association and the Hong Kong Professional Association for the Gifted and Talented, with strong support from ELCHK Lutheran Academy, the CubeSat Model Workshop was successfully held on May 10th.

Thirty gifted primary and secondary students experienced the wonders of space technology firsthand, assembling fully functional miniature satellites – CubeSats – transforming distant aerospace concepts into tangible learning experiences.

Breaking through traditional teaching frameworks, this workshop empowered students to build monitoring satellites equipped with camera functions. These student-crafted satellites captured images of Earth’s surface and transmitted them in real-time to a ground control station. Witnessing their self-assembled satellites capture Earth’s imagery drew repeated expressions of amazement from participants.

Notably, students took their completed satellite models back to their schools for exhibition, sharing this unique space exploration achievement with peers and extending STEM learning enthusiasm across campuses.

Though the event has concluded, its educational impact continues. These intricate satellite models will persistently inspire students’ interest in aerospace technology and nurture hands-on practical skills, shining as beacons of innovation in school communities.
